OESAA announces Fil Filter as newest member

The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association is delighted to welcome Fil Filter to the organisation, joining a distinguished list of suppliers keen on championing the use of original equipment (OE) components and testing in the automotive aftermarket.

Established in 1966, Fil Filter is Turkey’s largest filtration manufacturer and has grown its portfolio of OE partners over the last five decades. In 2019, it opened offices and a distribution centre in the UK – formally launching at Automechanika Birmingham.

Upon joining the membership, Fil Filter UK Sales & Marketing Manager, Sean Barnie, said: “The demand for quality and best practice in the UK aligns with the ethos of Fil Filter, so a partnership with an organisation, such as OESAA, is a fitting match.

“We are confident we can enhance awareness of not only Fil Filter as a brand, but also provide education within the industry and continue to encourage best practice. This is the impression we would like to make as we continue our journey in the UK aftermarket.”

OESAA Chairman, Nigel Morgan, revealed his satisfaction in Fil Filter following the likes of Brembo and Motul in its desire to join the organisation. Amassing a tight-knit and united group of members is “crucial”, Nigel said, so the word about endorsing OE quality can be spread further.

He added: “Fil Filter is a brand that continues to go from strength-to-strength in the UK and one that I know is proud of its OE pedigree.

“The company is particularly keen to emphasise best practice to technicians – perfect for what OESAA is trying to achieve at workshop level. I look forward to working with Sean and his team over the coming months.”

In honour of International Women’s Day, Brembo Expert and Technical Training EMEA Coordinator, Siti Abdullah, reflects on over two decades in the automotive arena and highlights both progress and ongoing challenges in gender diversity within the sector: “I have been in the automotive industry since 2003, and there have been some positive changes, with more women featuring in the industry. There are some great initiatives, like the Automotive 30% Club motoring towards its ‘30 by 30’ goal , having filled 27% of key leadership and decision-making roles with women. “However, in workshops and roles of a technical capacity, the gender imbalance is still prominent. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to overcome the industry stereotypes to improve this imbalance. “In Brembo, where over 15,000 people worldwide contribute to the company’s success, embracing diversity is not just a value but a vital strength. Brembo is committed to promoting an inclusive environment capable of supporting a sense of belonging. It empowers people to see themselves as integral contributors to the Group’s achievements, fostering a culture of inclusion that respects voices, individualities, and unique qualities of each person.” As we commemorate International Women’s Day, let’s continue to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and build an inclusive automotive industry where everyone’s talents are recognised and valued.
